CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
ARTIST RESIDENCY
FOR YOUNG QUEBEC ARTISTS
SPRING 2025
Deadline: January 24, 2025
La Manivelle Printmaking Studio invites Quebec artists aged 18-35 to submit a research/production residency project for spring 2025, from March 30, 2025 to April 21, 2025. The duration of the residency can be two or three weeks but must begin before March 31.
The deadline for applying for the residency is January 24, 2025.
La Manivelle is an artist-run centre dedicated for 20 years to the production, research, training and, with the Le Trécarré gallery, the dissemination of contemporary printed arts. These two spaces are managed by the Conseil des arts de la Baie (CAB).
The studio and gallery are located in the Centre du Rendez-vous de la Baie, on the campus of Université Sainte Anne - the only French-speaking university in Nova Scotia - in the village of Pointe-de-L’Église. This village has a little over a thousand inhabitants and is located in the municipality of Clare in Baie Sainte Marie.
La Manivelle provides specialized tools and equipment for relief engraving and intaglio engraving, including an 81 x 137 cm engraving press, basic equipment for screen printing and a darkroom for silver photography. Monotype, collagraphy and lithography on Pronto plates are also possible.
La Manivelle also offers an artist residency program. These residencies are an opportunity for exchanges and knowledge sharing between the guest artists and our members. During the residency, the artist is invited to give a workshop for members and the general public related to their practice and, if planned in advance, exhibit their artistic production at the Le Trécarré gallery.
For this special residency for young Quebec artists, travel costs can be covered by Les Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec. La Manivelle will help the artist submit this application.

• Have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
• Hold a valid Quebec health insurance card (RAMQ) during the period covered by the residency
